Shakira Celebrates Pique Retirement On Instagram

Gerard Pique has announced his international retirement, and pop singer partner Shakira is showing her support on social media, Billboard reports.

The 31-year-old made the announcement on Saturday, saying that he is retiring as Spain’s international player and that he will concentrate on Barcelona for the next three years. Pique made the last of his 102 international appearances in Spain’s World Cup last-16 loss to Russia.

After the news was revealed, Shakira showed her support on Instagram, writing,  “Love, a stage that we will always keep in our hearts is done. One of the happiest moments of my life has also been seeing you win in 2010 with the national team and celebrate with Spain.”

Shakira is currently in the US with the El Dorado tour, which this week will visit Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and Miami.

Pique will have more time to spend with Shakira and their two sons, Milan, five, and Sasha, three, according to Mid-Day.

The Hips Don’t Lie singer has often spoken about her intense love for the footballer and even dedicated some of the tracks of her 2017 album, El Dorado to him. The track, Me EnamorĂ© is about how she met and fell in love with Pique.

While recent rumours claimed the couple were having a torrid time, other sources said that they could be getting married soon.
