Airplane Bursts Into Flames Inside Lagos Airport An aircraft parked inside Overland Air hangar at the domestic wing of the Muritala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos burst into flames on Friday, October 12, 2018, for undisclosed reasons. According to a report by Sahara Reporters, the fire started at about 10:30am when a plane being serviced at the tarmac suddenly went up in flames. "Half of the Overland Airways plane is burnt, while some chartered aircraft being repaired were also torched," an eyewitness said.

Young Nigerian Genius Constructs Helicopter For The Army (See Photos)  The young man and his invention A Facebook user identified as Dud Malumfashi, has taken to the social networking platform to share the photos of a young Nigerian man who recently showed his patroitism by constructing a helicopter for the Nigerian army. According to reports, the young man designed the helicopter using green colour to represent Nigeria, and delivered the helicopter to Borno state for display during the army day celebration. The young genuis is from Rigasa Igabi local government area in Kaduna state. The richest man in Africa in chat with Financial Times revealed among other things how former president Olusegun Obasanjo helped in making him the king of cement production in Africa. Tragedy 5 persons died as boat capsizes in Lagos The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has confirmed five persons died, as boat capsized at Ebute Terminal, in Lagos. The General Manager of LASEMA, Mr Adesina Tiamiyu said that the agency received a distress call at about 5.57pm on Wednesday. Tiamiyu said that on arrival at the incident scene, it was observed that a 20 capacity passenger boat belonging to Blue sea capsized mid-sea, enroute Ikorodu from Lagos Island. He said that the immediate cause of the boat mishap was not yet known. ”Unfortunately, five persons (four adult females and one adult male) were confirmed dead as a result of the incident. ”Their bodies were deposited at the morgue at Ikorodu General Hospital, while five persons (four female and onr male) were rescued alive,” Tiamiyu said. NYSC increases corps members’ transport allowance The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the increase in transport and local allowances of corps members during orientation programmes. This was disclosed in a statement by Director Press and Publications department of the scheme, Mrs Adenike Adeyemi. Adeyemi said 2018 Batch ‘A’ corps members lauded the increase when the Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Suleiman Kazaure visited the Ebonyi State Orientation Camp. “The transport allowance for each corps member has been increased from N1,500 to N1,800, while the local allowance is now N1,400 up from N1,000. “Kazaure said the increase was in line with the Federal Government’s approved minimum wage for Civil Servants,” Adeyemi added.
